Abstract: The aim is to investigate blood flow dynamics through a constricted artery, assuming blood is a non-Newtonian Jeffrey fluid. A mathematical representation of blood flow through a uniform cross-sectioned cylindrical artery with multiple stenoses of different shapes, the first stenosis of cosine shaped and second stenosis of bell-shaped are considered to study the effect on essential characteristics of blood such as velocity and volumetric flow rate. The influence of the stenosis severity, pressure gradient and Jeffrey parameter is discussed to study the blood flow characteristics. The different cases, like the influence of stenosis severity, radial distance and Jeffrey parameters on velocity and volumetric flow rate across the stenotic region, are discussed. It is observed that an increase in the value of the Jeffrey factor results in an increase in both flow rate and velocity through the throat of cosine-shaped and bell-shaped stenosis
