Abstract: This paper explores the critical security challenges associated with Internet of Things (IoT) in distributed sensor networks. As IoT devices proliferate across various sectors, their interconnected nature introduces significant vulnerabilities, making them prime targets for cyberattacks. We identify key security issues, including data integrity, confidentiality, and device authentication, which are exacerbated by the constraints of sensor networks, such as limited processing power and energy resources. Our research evaluates existing security frameworks and protocols, highlighting their effectiveness and shortcomings in real-world applications. Furthermore, we propose a multi-layered security architecture designed to enhance resilience against potential threats while maintaining system efficiency.
