Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Based on the analysis of legal acts, the article concludes that there is a lack of consistency in the formation of legal values of servicemen, which requires a number of organizational, theoretical, methodological and legal measures. The author argues that the gaps related to the determination of the legal status of the subjects of educational influences need to be corrected. The author emphasizes that there is a need to modernize the forms and methods of educational work. Given the duration of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, postponing the issues of national-patriotic, military-patriotic and legal education of servicemen to peacetime seems to be unpredictable. The article emphasizes that under the legal regime of martial law, the formation of legal values in servicemen is complicated by a number of problems, including: a) the primacy of force which is currently being asserted in the international space and is manifested in the ineffectiveness of international mechanisms for deterring and holding the aggressor State accountable for numerous violations of humanitarian law, integrity and inviolability of the territory of other States within their borders; b) the State’s continued underestimation of the importance of forming legal values in all segments of the population. It is concluded that the formation of legal values in servicemen is an element of national-patriotic and military-patriotic education. The purpose of this activity is to consolidate the idea of the importance of legal ways and methods of conflict resolution and solving problems arising in their service activities and personal space in the value and motivational sphere of servicemen. The criterion for the effectiveness of the activities aimed at forming legal values is their reproduction in the daily activities of a serviceman when choosing legal ways and methods of achieving his goals.
