A Dual Neurological Insult: Ipsilateral Subacute Subdural Hematoma and Ischemic Stroke in an Elderly Patient With Contralateral Weakness.

Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: This case report discusses a rare occurrence of simultaneous subacute subdural hematoma (SDH) and ischemic stroke in a 95-year-old male patient with a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The patient presented with contralateral weakness and a series of diagnostic challenges. This report underscores the complexities in the diagnosis and management of these concurrent neurological insults. A detailed analysis of the clinical findings, treatment strategies, and prognostic considerations is provided, with reference to existing literature on similar cases.
