Abstract: The importance of traumatic dural venous sinus injury lies in the probability of massive blood loss at the time of trauma or emergency operation resulting in a high mortality rate during the perioperative period. We present 2 case reports highlighting the successful outcome of patients with head trauma and cerebral venous sinus injury treated with gauze packing. Hemorrhage was successfully halted in 2 patients, and all survived their operations. Both of them were discharged from the hospital and had an improved Glasgow Coma Scale score at the time of the last follow-up. There were no postoperative intracranial or wound infections. Intracranial packing to tamponade severe intracranial hemorrhage can be a lifesaving neurosurgical maneuver.
