Abstract: This work presents a partial report of ongoing results, aiming to analyze the activities undertaken during the free time of higher education students from the Tecnológico Nacional de México, as well as the interaction between physical activity and leisure time among university students using the Piéron survey. The main objective is to determine the reliability of the questionnaire for future use with higher education student populations, as well as to describe their perception regarding the importance of activities, health, reasons for success, significant factors, and motivations for participation. The methodology was based on virtual data collection, applying the survey to participants engaged in extracurricular cultural activities. Results: The survey showed adequate reliability and listening to music was identified as the most significant activity; when compared with others, students considered themselves to be strong, with a perception of being quite healthy, and reported experiencing various sensations when succeeding in their activities. Among the most important aspects was being skilled at the activity they performed, and they had diverse motivations for participating in extracurricular activities. Conclusion: Appropriate interactions were found between leisure time and extracurricular activities.
