Abstract: Aims: Modern restorative dentistry is based on the use of an adhesive system and subsequently a composite resin. The importance of knowledge of the properties and compositions of these systems and their clinical application is one of the critical characteristics for the clinical longevity of composite resin restorations. Simplifying these systems made them very acidic, which raises the hypothesis of restorative failure in the long term. The objective of this research was to evaluate the pH of different types of dental adhesives over three periods of time. Materials and methods: Three 3M ESPE dental adhesives were tested with different presentations and the pH level was evaluated immediately, 30 and 60 days after their polymerization. Results: The lowest changes in pH levels were recorded in the groups of the Adper Scotchbond Multi-Purpose control adhesive system. Statistically significant differences were detected between the dental adhesives Adper Single Bond 2 and Universal Single Bond (3M - ESPE) (P<0,05). Conclusion: Following the results, we concluded that the self-etch group of 1-step and 2-step pre-etched had statistically significant alterations (P<0,05) in the value of pH 30 and 60 days after their polymerization.
