Exploring the Determinants of Jordanian Citizens' Intentions to Utilize E-Government Services: A Citizen-Centric Assessment
Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: The Jordanian government has made strenuous efforts to design and deploy e-government portals on the Internet. However, some factors have caused Jordan's ranking on the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) to decline in the past years. This paper aims to understand the impact of factors that affect the behavioural intention to use e-government from the perspective of Jordanian citizens to improve it and raise the e-Government Development Index. This study proposes a research model that considers constructs such as perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and perceived trust on behavioural intention. Data was collected through a questionnaire survey. Data were analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using IBM SPSS AMOS 25. The results of the analysis showed that ease of use, perceived usefulness, and perceived trust have a positive and significant impact on citizens’ behavioural intention to adopt e-government services.
