Abstract: Urbanization is one of the main factors influencing biodiversity and ecosystem interactions such as pollination. Available data show that the mosaic of impervious and green areas often found in cities can support the presence of plants, pollinators and their interactions, when properly managed. Urban areas, especially those rich in plant habitats providing food and breeding sites, such as gardens or parks, have the potential to play a key role in maintaining and even improving wildlife. However, these are also fragmented habitats, often with the altered species composition compared to neighboring non-urban areas. Abiotic factors such as high temperature, air, soil and light pollution also play a significant role in the urban ecosystem. If species are able to adapt to live in these specific conditions, cities can be an important habitat for them. Given the potential of urban areas, shaping them appropriately requires us to fully understand the impact of urbanization on urban organisms and their interactions.
