Abstract: ABSTRACT First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Biology Open, helping researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Ariadna Carol Illa is first author on ‘ From early development to maturity: a phenotypic analysis of the Townes sickle cell disease mice’, published in BiO. Ariadna is a PhD student in the lab of Søren Skov (first affiliation), Carsten Dan Ley (second affiliation) at the University of Copenhagen, and Novo Nordisk, Denmark, investigating in vivo models and blood diseases, such as sickle cell disease.
