Abstract: This paper presents the design and development of a compact floor cleaning robot intended for efficient residential cleaning. The robot utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller and ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles and navigate various floor types. The compact design allows it to reach tight spaces, ensuring thorough cleaning. The primary focus of the project is on cost- effectiveness, energy efficiency, and ease of use, providing a practical and affordable alternative to traditional cleaning methods. The system architecture includes a modular design, which simplifies upgrades and maintenance. The robot’s software algorithms optimize pathfinding, allowing it to clean the entire floor area while avoiding obstacles. This paper also discusses the integration of hardware components, including motors, sensors, and power management systems, as well as the challenges faced during the testing phase. Potential improvements, such as the integration of machine learning for smarter navigation and performance enhancements, are also explored. This project contributes to the growing field of home automation by providing a reliable solution for automated household cleaning, making it an ideal tool for modern residential environment.
