Abstract: The introduction of photovoltaic (PV) systems into the electrical grid has transformed the way renewable energy is adopted, but also presented problems such as terms of harmonic distortion as well as some power quality issues and concern regarding grid stability. This paper makes a thorough harmonic analysis of grid-connected PV systems and identifies the gaps in existing research and proposes cutting-edge techniques to mitigate harmonics. The proposed approach consists of adaptive techniques for harmonic mitigation with advanced Proportional-Resonant (PR) controllers with optimized hybrid filters. Selected MATLAB/Simulink simulations show the efficacy of the proposed solutions at varying load conditions, demonstrating THD improvement and overall system benefit. At 55% improvement of THD compared to current methods-elevated over standard forms of active and passive filter techniques-a comprehensive assessment was met. Application of input perturbations using parameters such as power factor, efficacy, and system stability showed response robustness for the methodology tackled. In an emphatic manner, such work will contribute in stepping up the power stability and power quality within renewable energy systems in an articulated manner for resilient and adaptive future installations: That is, such an avenue will provide possibilities for further integration of renewable energy into power networks in the present and near-future scenarios.
