Abstract: This history page is dedicated to the history of the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR), a relatively young radiologic society dedicated to musculoskeletal radiology. Since its very modest beginnings in 1993, the society has gradually grown to become one of the largest and most respected subspecialty imaging societies in and beyond Europe.
