Abstract: ISO 10360-13, dedicated for acceptance and reverification test of optical three dimensional coordinate measuring system (Optical 3D CMS), has been published since 2021. The development needs to take into account outcomes from a couple of technical challenges, with intention to realize test protocols for effectively verifying performance of Optical 3D CMS. Those particularly include i) experimental re-validation of length measuring performance test sparsely performed according to previously published standards, ii) dependency in measuring performance on different concatenation pathways for connecting multiple of single view length measurements indispensable for realizing a longer measurement range. An experimental study is carried out by adopting a prototype material standard having intentionally dense observation points in two-dimensional planar manner. The results show notable difference in the capture efficiency in length measurement error, depending on residual of the system qualification applied to CMSs. Another experimental study is conducted for comparing concatenated length measurement results between two different concatenation scenarios, one conservatively optimized, and the other purposely detoured. The experimental result supports informative effectiveness of the combination of two different concatenation pathways.
