Multiple Types of Engagement to Support Student Success in Online Linear Algebra

Abstract: How can we help students succeed in linear algebra? In this paper, we summarize asynchronous and synchronous course structures for online linear algebra. To foster student success, we designed the courses to be filled with multiple types of active learning engagement that allow for structured flexibility. We introduce our courses and then reflect in order to highlight benefits and challenges.
