Abstract: The purpose of this material is to shed light on some aspects regarding the free peasants of Vrancea at the beginning of the 19th century, among which we mention the organization of the communes belonging to the free peasants and the reconstruction of the general coordinates of the existence of the peasants. The material also highlights the abusive behavior of the boyars, insisting on one of its effects among rural communities, namely the dispossession of free peasants. Likewise, the reaction and effort of the peasants to obtain their justice in court were highlighted. The difficulties and peculiarities of the process, the sacrifices of the free peasants, the evolution of the relationship with the local boyars, but also the relationship with the rulers were equally taken into account.
