Abstract: The paper is focused on the organization of apprentice school on the initiative and under the authority of the Tradesmen’s Corporation of Craiova. A main exponent of the establishment and organization of the apprentice school in Craiova was Constantin C. Puţureanu, official within the mentioned Tradesmen’s Corporation. The analysis of the subject of the article is mainly based on archival documents which were preserved due to the concern of the mention official to gather and keep relevant documents about his activity. Correlating the information from these documents with other documentary sources, we propose to analyze the educational importance for the socio-professional category from which the school students came, as well as the revelation of the common effort of the representatives of several social and professional categories (officials, teachers, employers etc.) in the establishment, support and functioning of this type of education in the period 1920-1925.
