Abstract: The Golden Ratio, mathematics and aesthetics are inextricably linked. This article presents an examination of the role of mathematics in the formation of aesthetic impressions, as evidenced in classical art, architecture, and other forms of visual expression. The concept of the divine proportion can be observed in a number of artistic forms, including music and poetry. However, the focus of this article is on its visual manifestations. The golden ratio is regarded as a sacred proportion due to its association with natural phenomena and even the structure of the universe and the human body. For centuries, it has been employed in the construction, design and composition of architectural masterpieces by eminent artists who were able to perceive its aesthetic appeal. This article seeks to elucidate the manner in which the Golden Ratio is employed in architectural works, paintings and geometric shapes, thereby engendering a sense of aesthetic mystery.
