Abstract: Capecitabine a pro-drug of 5-fluorouracil is a commonly used chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of many cancers. A common side effect of this agent is palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia. However, genital ulceration is an unusual side effect reported only a few times in the literature. Herein, we present a patient with unusual genital ulceration and palmoplantar erythrodysesthesia following capecitabine chemotherapy and review similar cases from the literature and review their pathophysiology and management strategies.
