Investigation of Flow Boiling Heat Transfer Mechanisms in Channels with Complex Wall Configurations

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Flow boiling has numerous applications in many daily life and industrial fields due to its high heat transfer efficiency. By using the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) with the pseudopotential model, coupled with the finite difference method to solve the temperature field, the flow boiling process of water in a 2D horizontal channel with complex configurations is simulated. The study investigates the impact of different factors such as wall configurations and fluid velocity on the flow and heat transfer processes. The results show that the more cavities and finer pillars in the wall structure, the higher the heat transfer efficiency. Increasing the flow velocity effectively promotes bubble detachment and enhances heat transfer efficiency. This study provides insights for channels configuration designs.
