Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate differences in health indicators, according to performance, among runners. This is a cross-sectional study, whose sample comprised 35 male runners (36,9±12,5 years). Weltman test (3200m) was used to estimate the running pace, and runners were split based on test results: amateur runners, semi-professional runners, and recreational runners. Variables studied were: waist circumference, body mass index, body fat percentage, systolic blood pressure, physical activity, and sedentary behaviour. Analysis of variance, with Bonferroni post-hoc test, was used to estimate group differences. Regression linear analysis was performed to verify factors associated with performance. In all the analysis, p<0,05 was considered. Except for systolic blood pressure, physical activity and sedentary behavior, significant differences were observed for all variables. Regression analysis results did not indicate any significant association with performance. Differences in body composition indicators between runners may indicate that better performance can be associated with a better health indicators profile.
