Effect on abrasion resistance of nitrile-butadiene rubber diaphragm with zinc oxide
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: To study the effect of zinc oxide on the abrasion resistance of nitrile-butadiene rubber, three kinds of NBR specimens with different morphology of ZnO were manufactured. Energy distribution spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and many other characterization methods were used to analyze ZnO’s microstructure, morphology, and distribution. Besides, a variety of test methods were used to test the properties and study the abrasion resistance of NBR, including tensile strength, ShoreA hardness, and vulcanization characteristics. The conventional ZnO rubber is the worst, the nano-ZnO rubber is the worst, and the modified nano-ZnO rubber is the best for slight abrasive abrasion without adhesive abrasion.
