Abstract: ECR Spotlight is a series of interviews with early-career authors from a selection of papers published in Journal of Experimental Biology and aims to promote not only the diversity of early-career researchers (ECRs) working in experimental biology but also the huge variety of animals and physiological systems that are essential for the ‘comparative’ approach. Kiara Haylock is an author on ‘ Integrating physiology into movement ecology of large, terrestrial mammals’, published in JEB. Kiara is a PhD candidate in the lab of Dr Robyn Hetem and Prof. Francesca Parrini at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, investigating the behavioural and physiological responses of animals to ecological and environmental stressors, to enable targeted conservation efforts and more informed management decisions.
