Abstract: Two girls showed dehiscence of postoperative scar and recto-perineal fistula after surgery for anal atresia. They underwent surgery which included excision of evaginated rectum and reconstruction of external anal sphincter without diverting stoma. No intraoperative or postoperative morbidity developed. Both patients showed a progressive restoration of sphincter tone and a decrease in anal incontinence. Proposed method reduces the operative injury and reduces the risk of inflammatory complications.
