Optimizing Data Center Operations through MQTT-Based Device Management: A PublishSubscribe Approach
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article presents a comprehensive analysis of MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) protocol implementation in modern Data Center environments, focusing on its publish/subscribe architecture for device management and monitoring. The article examines the effectiveness of MQTT in handling real-time data collection from various Data Center components, including cooling systems, power units, and server infrastructure.Through experimental evaluation and case study analysis, the article demonstrates the protocol's efficiency in reducing network overhead while maintaining high reliability in device communication. The article highlights the benefits of MQTT's lightweight nature and scalable architecture in optimizing Data Center operations, particularly in areas of temperature control, power consumption monitoring, and server health status tracking. The article indicates significant improvements in system responsiveness and energy efficiency compared to traditional communication protocols, while also addressing key challenges in security and topic hierarchy design. This article contributes to the growing body of knowledge in Data Center management and provides practical insights for implementing MQTT-based solutions in large-scale Data Center environments.
