Enhancing Workforce Dynamics: Examining the Role of In-House Training on Gen Z Motivation and Engagement in Dubai’s

Year: 2025
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This study investigates the relationships between in-house training, intrinsic motivation, and job engagement among Gen Z employees in Dubai’s tourism sector, leveraging quantitative analysis of survey data from 150 participants. Descriptive statistics revealed high average scores for in- house training (4.03), intrinsic motivation (3.69), and job engagement (3.47), though variability in job engagement scores (std = 0.87) suggests room for improvement. Correlation analysis indicates a modest positive relationship between in-house training and intrinsic motivation (r = 0.1549), while the link between in-house training and job engagement is weak (r = 0.0569). These results highlight the limited direct impact of traditional training methods on engagement, emphasizing the need for tailored, technology-driven, and personalized programs to align with Gen Z’s expectations. By bridging gaps in current practices, this research offers actionable insights for reducing turnover, improving motivation, and sustaining Dubai's global tourism competitiveness. Future research should explore broader organizational factors and generational comparisons.
