An Overview of Refugee Rights In International Documents
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: From the perspective of international law, the sources of the right to asylum are legal documents in which legal norms and regulations related to the right to asylum can be found. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 1951 Convention, the 1967 Protocol, and other valid international and regional documents stipulate the right to asylum, but the general system of protection of refugee rights is the 1951 Geneva Convention and its Amending Protocol. In relation to the non-refoulement of refugees and illegal immigrants to their homeland, international regulations and human rights considerations play an important role.
