Systemic resilience: an ecofacilitative perspective (on the example of parent-child relationships)

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The article presents a theoretical substantiation of the ecofacilitative view of resilience as a basic property of open dynamic systems through the integration of systemic, dialectical, and ecofacilitative approaches. The evolution of scientific views from understanding resilience as an individual characteristic to its interpretation as a systemic property is analyzed. Three forms of resilience manifestation (preventive, spontaneous, postventive) are characterized, reflecting the dialectical nature of its development in the relationship system. An ecological matrix for analyzing resilience manifestations is proposed for the first time, showing the relationship between context, form of resilience manifestation, relationship type, focus of ecofacilitative support, and expected outcomes. Using parent-child relationships as an example, the possibilities of applying the matrix for analyzing various social systems are demonstrated. The principles of ecopsychological facilitation as an integrative practice are substantiated, providing a foundation for developing psychological assistance programs and serving as a tool for diagnosing and supporting resilience in various contexts. The presented ecopsychological perspective in understanding systems development emphasizes the temporary nature of both negative and positive states, the value of crisis and transitional periods, and support for the natural rhythm of open systems development. The research gains particular relevance in the context of war in Ukraine, where parent-child relationships face unprecedented challenges and demonstrate various forms of resilience manifestation, creating a unique context for verifying the proposed theoretical model.
