Designing Silk Biomaterials toward Better Future Healthcare: The Development and Application of Silk‐Based Implantable Electronic Devices in Clinical Diagnosis and Therapy (Adv. Mater. 8/2025)
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Silk-Based Implantable Electronic Devices Silkworm-derived silk with tunable mechanical strength, biocompatibility, biodegradability, and biological activity are the most attractive biomaterials for implantable medical electronic devices (IMEDs). Understanding the intrinsic relationship between their structures and properties would help to gain insight into the key factors that make them ideal materials for IMEDs, as well as address the challenges and perspectives of developing silk-based IMEDs. More details can be found in article number 2411946 by Qiying Lv, Zheng Wang, Lin Wang, and co-workers.
