Abstract: This is an accepted article with a DOI pre-assigned that is not yet published.Speculative design enables entrepreneurs to imagine futures beyond current assumptions, identify risks, and consider diverse perspectives. By visualizing social, environmental, or economic shifts, they can better anticipate changing values and plan effectively. Movies, as experiential narratives, bring these scenarios to life with emotional impact and clarity. While no film can capture every detail, they reveal key stakeholders, contexts, and interactions, showing how the future diverges from the present. The speculative video trailer “Plan P,” presented here has been created by students at Berlin International University of Applied Sciences. It envisions a future of “plant politics,” where plants are recognized as political stakeholders in interspecies collaboration. This storytelling explores policy innovation, ecological stewardship, and equitable resource sharing. Short films like “Plan P” help entrepreneurs envision alternative worlds, recognize emerging trends, and discover opportunities, ultimately aiding in strategic planning, innovation, and risk management.
