The reality of the concept in the structure of being

Abstract: The question of to what extent the concept is considered to exist is being studied. Within the framework of the phenomenological approach, the measure of the existence of concepts is interpreted as a giv en. It takes place in some particular interval of abstraction (a situation, a set of situations, or in the universe as a whole) both for the individual "I" and for the Other or Others. Whenever a subject thinks abstractly, by his act of attention he "divides" the existence provided to him into two worlds he can see: the noematic and the empirical. They take place only in intention, and not in general (as in Plato). In each act of attention, the subject resides in one of these worlds, but not both at once. At the same time, he is already mentally in one of them. This is due to the context or the task being solved. A mental "look up" (from the empirical world in which the subject resides to the noematic one) is an abstraction. On the contrary, a similar "downward look" is concretization. The article shows that the content of the concept is determined by the "horizontal extension" in the noematic world. The scope of the concept takes place when mentally "looking down" and is realized in the empirical (objective) world. And only the concept itself, in its unity, connects these two worlds at one point of existence – in the act of attention. For the objects of each of the worlds, modes of being are introduced: objective (for objects from the empirical world) and conceptual (for concepts). Such modes are incomparable. Their introduction into the prac tice of philosophizing avoids the use of the largely contradictory predicate "to exist".
