Teachers' initiatives in youth literacy education – from beliefs to activities

Abstract: The aim of the article is to present interesting educational initiatives supporting the improvement of young people's writing skills. They are a response to students' difficulties in using written language diagnosed by researchers and observed in school practice. The proposals presented in the article for working with youth in the field of developing text-creating competences come from language teachers – reflective practitioners. They are the result of their knowledge and experience, their own observations combined with their creativity and passion. They can become a source of inspiration for new interesting and attractive, and at the same time effective ideas for youth literacy education.
