Management of a traumatic splenic injury in the setting of polysubstance use and challenging social factors

Abstract: A middle-aged patient presented to an outside hospital emergency department (ED) with abdominal pain, having fallen on the left side 2 days prior. A splenic injury was diagnosed but left against medical advice (AMA). Later that day, the patient presented to our hospital where same-day use of polysubstance was reported.
