Abstract: High quality specialised translations aim to ensure correspondence between the source and target texts, but also to establish a consistent relationship with the related texts in the specialised field, in other words to ensure ,,intertextual coherence”. The lexical/terminological aspect is a key component in any specialised translation, in addition to genre conventions, contextual and pragmatic appropriateness. In this article we aim to analyse the difficulties and procedures of translating phrasal verbs in the field of education, as they are an essential part of the common and specialised lexicon of English that in many cases pose a challenge in finding appropriate equivalents.
