Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [RuCl(C7H8)(C12H9ClN2)]PF6, contains two cationic ruthenium(II) complexes and two [PF6]− anions. One of the anions exhibits disorder over two positions. The ruthenium complex adopts a piano-stool geometry, with chelating Schiff base and chlorido ligands occupying three coordination sites, and the arene ring serving as the ‘seat’.
