Investigating the Impact of Population Aging on Income Inequality

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The primary aim of this study was to examine the impact of population aging on income inequality. To achieve this, the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) model was employed to analyze a decade of data from 143 countries. The findings reveal that population aging contributes to an improvement in income inequality. Furthermore, the study explores the moderating role of education and confirms that education positively influences the relationship between population aging and income inequality. By expanding the scope of the research population compared to previous studies, this study provides empirical evidence supporting the moderating effect of education.
