Creating a High-Quality and Equitable STEMM Education Ecosystem in the United States

Abstract: The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) published the report STEMM Equity and Excellence 2050: A National Strategy for Progress and Prosperity in 2024, with the goal of establishing an equitable and excellent STEMM education ecosystem by 2050. This study provides an in-depth analysis of this strategy, examining it from four dimensions: motivating marginalized groups to participate, building a high-quality teaching workforce, constructing cross-boundary collaborative mechanisms, and establishing a data-driven governance system. By exploring the strategies and practices embedded in this educational reform, this research aims to offer valuable insights for China’s educational reform, particularly in promoting educational equity and enhancing educational quality.
