Community Needs Assessment as Basis for Philippine College Foundation-Business Administration Department Community Extension Project

Abstract: This study investigated the needs of the residents in Sitio Langcanao, Barangay Lurogan, Valencia City. Specifically, it sought to determine the demographic profile of the residents, identify their needs in relation to livelihood and financial literacy, and develop extension projects based on the identified needs. The study employed a descriptive research design which utilized a validated and reliable survey and interview questionnaire. Results revealed that residents highly needed both livelihood development training and financial management skills to create economic stability. An extension project (Project LIFE) was developed as an output to cater to the community's needs. The institution and local government unit should collaborate to enable the practical use of service learning to address real-life community needs.
