Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This article examines the implementation of the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) concept in Ngargogondo Tourism Village, Magelang, Indonesia. The TBL approach measures the success of tourism based on three aspects: economic profit, social welfare, and environmental sustainability. The study finds that the village has implemented sustainable tourism practices, considering social and cultural aspects, and has good waste management. However, the village faces a challenge in attracting visitors outside of holidays, which affects the long-term sustainability of the Balkondes. The article highlights the importance of adopting the TBL principles to promote sustainable tourism in Ngargogondo Village, enhancing the well-being of local communities, preserving the environment, and improving relationships between stakeholders. This research uses qualitative methods to obtain primary data, conducting interviews with several tourism village managers and visitors who came at that time. In terms of environmental aspects, the village government has implemented good waste management practices, with no garbage scattered in destinations and modified bins for classified waste management. This research finds a holistic approach to development by balancing social equity, environmental protection, and economic viability. Community engagement plays a crucial role, as involving local residents in decision-making fosters ownership and pride.
