Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Factors influencing organizational trust, organizational commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior on job insecurity in external threat situations such as COVID-19 were analyzed. An empirical analysis was conducted using the SPSS 21.0 statistical program for 243 employees in the foodservice industry. The findings of the study are as follows: First, job insecurity among food service employees was found to have a significant negative (−) impact on organizational trust, organizational commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior. Second, job insecurity was found to partially mediate the relationship between organizational trust and organizational commitment. Based on these findings, this study provides practical evidence for food service companies to manage job insecurity and build organizational trust during crisis situations like COVID-19, thereby encouraging employee commitment and voluntary behavior. This research can serve as an important foundational reference for improving human resource management policies not only in the food service industry but also across the broader service industry.
