Development of Technical Solutions for Modernization Short-cycle Adsorption Unit for Hydrogen-containing Gas
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Hydrogen-containing gas from the installations of the oil refinery and the Monomer plant Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, LLC is enriched with high-purity hydrogen, which is produced at a short-cycle adsorption (SCA) unit.Currently, the heat exchange bloc of the SCA unit is unstable in winter due to the low heating efficiency of the hydrogen-containing gas entering the adsorption unit. The analysis of the reasons for the inefficient operation of the heat exchange unit of the SCA unit has been carried out. It has been established that the temperature of the hydrogen-containing gas at the inlet to the adsorption unit is at a boundary value (about 20 °C) and during operation there may be situations when the temperature of the hydrogen-containing gas decreases below this value, which negatively affects the operation of the adsorption unit.It is proposed to include an additional heat exchanger in the technological scheme of the SCA unit to stabilize the operation of the heat exchange unit in winter.
