Production of Liquid Frost-resistant Polymer-modified Bitumen
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Oil road bitumens do not always meet the requirements of state standards and may have characteristics that are inappropriate for real operating conditions. Their performance properties can be improved by adding specialized polymer modifiers. The article presents the results of studies on the effect of non-standard polymer waste based on high-pressure polyethylene and a secondary product of deep oil refining - an extract of selective purification of the third oil fraction on the quality of standard road bitumen. The research produced a polymer bitumen, which in its main characteristics is an analogue of the polymer-bitumen binder brand PBB 300 with high frost-resistant properties. The resulting product allows solving environmental problems by utilizing petrochemical waste and expanding the possible use of secondary products of deep oil refining processes.
