Abstract: To determine the threshold scores for the Oxford Shoulder Score (OSS), Constant-Murley Score (CMS) and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) shoulder score that predict treatment success after reverse shoulder arthroplasty. Prospective study involving patients who under RSA between January 2011 to February 2020. Evaluation of patients took place both pre-operatively and at 3, 6, and 12 months post-operatively for functional outcome, pain, satisfaction with surgery and fulfillment of expectations. Treatment was considered to be successful if 3 criteria were met: patient satisfaction with surgery, reduction in pain (defined by a decrease in VAS score) and meeting patient’s expectation for surgery. Threshold scores were derived by Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analyses and the Youden index. Data involving 131 patients was analysed for this study. ROC analysis showed that all 3 PROMs (OSS, CMS and UCLA shoulder score) have good prediction of treatment success at 12 months follow up (AUC >0.7). An OSS score of 18, UCLA of 26, and CMS of 51 at 12 month showed good prediction of a patient having undergone successful RSA. The OSS, CMS and UCLA shoulder score have good predictive value for treatment success after reverse shoulder arthroplasty. Level of evidenceLevel III
