Abstract: The state of eight allozyme loci of the northern red-backed vole was analyzed during the entire population cycle (2002-2005). In six gene markers, polymorphic by the 95 % criterion, significant fluctuations in the allozyme variability parameters were revealed during the study period. Some of them were similar to the changes described earlier for the Priokhotye population of the species, while others were different. Some of the parameters under consideration may depend on the population density or result from random factors. Some loci may be strongly affected by strong selection in the harsh climatic conditions of the research area.
