Abstract: Plummer-Vinson Syndrome (PVS) is a rare condition characterized by the classic triad of dysphagia, iron-deficiency anemia or long-standing anemia, and esophageal web. We present a case of a 38-year-old man who was diagnosed with human immunodeficiency virus, underwent antiretroviral therapy, and faced challenges starting Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) medications due to their size. An esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed that the patient has Plummer-Vinson Syndrome. Healthcare providers encountered difficulties in optimizing his therapy and initiating HAART medication for his HIV treatment. We present this case due to its rarity.
