Abstract: In Maryse Condé’s second autobiographical novel, "La Vie sans fards" (2012), the author explores the development of her identity during her youth. The objective of this research is to understand her turbulent relationship with the places during this important stage of her life: the island of Guadeloupe, the city of Paris, and the African continent, which awaken in her a sense of lack of belonging, disorientation, and a deep desire to find her place in the world. During her journey through the different spaces, Condé deepens the concepts developed in the studies of the black diaspora: decolonization, the in-between space or hybrid identity, to finally arrive at a new conception of identity. En el segundo relato autobiográfico de Maryse Condé, "La Vie sans fards" (2012), la autora explora el desarrollo de su identidad durante su juventud. El objetivo de esta investigación es comprender su turbulenta relación con los lugares durante esta importante etapa de su vida: la isla de Guadalupe, la ciudad de París y el continente africano, que despiertan en ella un sentido de falta de pertenencia, desorientación y un profundo deseo de encontrar su lugar en el mundo. Durante su recorrido por los diferentes espacios, Condé profundiza en los conceptos desarrollados en los estudios de la diáspora negra: la descolonización, el espacio in-between o la identidad híbrida, para llegar finalmente a una nueva concepción de la identidad.
