Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Yellow trevally (Selaroides leptolepis) is an economically valuable fish species. If Yellow trevally fishing is carried out continuously without considering fish stocks in the waters, there will be overfishing. This research aims to 1) Analyse the Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) of Yellow trevally landed at Muara Kintap Fishing Port; 2) Analyse the Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) of Yellow trevally landed at Muara Kintap Fishing Port; 3) Analyse the utilisation rate of Yellow trevally landed at Muara Kintap Fishing Port. Catching Yellow trevally landed at Muara Kintap Fishing Port, using mini trawl, drift gill net and purse seine. The data analysis method used is CPUE analysis, standardisation of fishing gear and MSY analysis. The results showed that the CPUE obtained in 2014 was the highest at 288.627 kg/trip. The result of Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) of Yellow trevally landed at Muara Kintap Fishing Port was 29,409.8166 kg/year with optimum fishing effort (fopt) of 821.4834 trips/year. Utilisation rate of Yellow trevally landed at Kintap Muara Fishing Port was highest in 2015 at 34.90% with a medium category and lowest in 2023 at 6.20% with a low category. Overall, Yellow trevally fishing has not been overfished so that fishing efforts can still be optimised.
