The Production of New Modified Rosin Products and Their Application for the Hydrophobization of Paper and Cardboard on Resource-saving Technologies
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The developed modified rosin products (MCP), unlike analogues of TM and LM, contain a new modifying substance in the structure of resin acids (monoesters of maleic anhydride and higher fatty alcohols) instead of monoethylcellose maleinate and maleic anhydride and have improved (by 1.7–2.1 times) hydrophobic properties. The technology of using new MCPs ensures a reduction in their costs from 4 to 2% and electrolyte by 2.5–3.5 times due to the shift of the sizing process from the traditional homocoagulation mode to a more efficient heteroadagulation mode.
