Abstract: Coal tar is widely used as a binder in the production of electrodes and anode paste. To improve the characteristics of the binder pitch, various modifications of the feedstock are used. In this work, the properties of the products of low-temperature (up to 300 °C) thermal oxidation of electrode pitch B (Altai-Koks JSC) are investigated. The dependences of the fractional composition and yield of volatile substances of low-temperature thermal oxidation products depending on time are determined. The properties of some low-temperature thermal oxidation products corresponding to binder pitches have been determined.
