Study on the evolution of internal resistance and entropy-thermal coefficients during the aging process of lithium-ion traction batteries

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Internal resistance and entropy-thermal coefficients are crucial parameters for evaluating and monitoring traction batteries during research, design, performance validation, and real-vehicle operation. The entropy-thermal coefficient significantly influences the heat generation rate and total heat release of the traction battery. This study analyzes the relationship between internal resistance and entropy-thermal coefficients of four traction battery types and investigates their impact on battery performance throughout the lifecycle. A significant correlation between the internal resistance and entropy-thermal coefficient of traction batteries is identified, and their evolution is analyzed through the voltage platform and state of health dimensions. These findings provide valuable insights into the thermal behavior of traction batteries in practical applications.
